More work... and amusement park!

This weekend turned out pretty well.  I took Friday off with the hopes of taking the family to Canobie Lake Park. The weather, however, wasn't really the best so we opted to stay home and continue working on our walkway.  Good thing we did because we were able to rent a Bobcat to help move more material for the walkway foundation.  Packing it all in with a vibrating plate, we were just about done when the rain came.  And boy! Did it Rain!

Melissa and I were so wet and filthy that we went in via the basement and called Christen to bring us a couple of towels.  And of course as soon as we got upstairs the rain slacked off to just a sprinkle.  Well, we were pretty happy with the progress we made and called it quits.  I did go back out that evening after the rain stopped to dump 3 loads of sand onto the walkway.  Now I just have to level it out and we can start laying the pavers!

Saturday we went to Canobie and had a blast.  Isaac probably got the most out of the trip since his entry to the park was free.  He got to ride a dozen kiddie rides several times that day.  Since he's only 20 months he didn't understand how you ride for a little while then get off.  So while he enjoyed the rides he was very upset when we took him off the first few rides.  But he soon learned that just meant you got to ride something else!  Soon he was pointing at the different trucks, boats, and other vehicles, yelling "RIDE".  Melissa and I took turns with Isaac as Caleb and Christen went on the other attractions.  In the late afternoon a rainstorm passed through but only lasted 20 minutes or so. We stayed through the fireworks and didn't get home until after 11pm.

I get sick on swing sets so I don't enjoy amusement parks all that much.  I did go on one roller coaster, the Yankee Cannonball, and that was enough for me.  I did go on some of the other rides that were more tame, and enjoyed myself on those.  So even though our plans didn't work out just right, we had a good time!
