Slacker
Ok, I admit it. I've been slacking off.
I haven't done much of anything this past week. Not with the blog and not with anything else. I've been lazy lazy lazy.
And I'm enjoying every minute of it.
Oh, I've accomplished a few things like setting up my father-in-law's broadband modem and router. Big whoop. Most 12 year olds can do that.
But I've been avoiding those big projects around the house like finishing the half-finished basement. That's a project I started about a year ago... maybe two. I haven't really worked on it since then. One room has walls and outlets, but no paint or outlet covers. I still have to hook up the electricity. The rest of it is in various stages of studs and piles of random stuff.
One thing I did do was put in a sump pump. We got a little extra rain this spring and it happened to find its way into our basement - the unfinished part, fortunately. A quick stop by the local tool rental shop provided a diamond bladed monster of a saw.
Note for future use: gas motors in closed spaces makes an awful large quantity of smoke. I only blacked out twice while cutting through the basement floor. (Not really, I did have several fans blowing and I took large breaks to let the carbon monoxide clear. You could see the smoke billowing out of the bulkhead door for several minutes. Blek!)
But I gots a big hole in my basement now. Add one of the pumps from my collection and ta-da! Now I just have to plumb it permanently.
But again, I'm a slacker this week so it will have to wait.
