Something New
I'm still out begging for a job after almost a month. It hasn't been too bad, though. I've completed lots of projects around the house.
One thing has been a little forestry management. We have 5 acres and I've been told that a good wood lot of that size should produce up to 2 cords of wood each year. So I've been thinning out dead or dying trees and stacking them for this winter. Perhaps with all my efforts we'll have a good wood lot .... in about 20 years.
Meanwhile, the basement is ready for taping and mudding. I just need to purchase some corner beads and I'll get cracking on that.
Our Lego Robotics team continues to plug along. Competitions are only a month away! Yikes! Will we be ready? Who knows!?!
The good part of being jobless is that I can now introduce myself as an unemployed bum. That may not be so good when greeting visitors at church, however. Hmm... I wonder if I have I scared any away...
I received a certified letter from our town's Zoning board today. Oh no! I thought they were getting after me about cutting trees but it turns out a neighbor down the road wants a waiver to do something and there's a hearing in a week. Whew! No tree police after me yet!
