The book review that never was

It has become apparent that I am not to finish the book Brisingr.

We first procured a copy from our town library less than a month after the book was published. My son devoured it in less than three days. I started reading but our copy had to return to the library before I could complete it. And I was almost done, too.

So I went on line to download the audio book version. Only problem there, or problems, were the forty other people waiting to download.  Humph. I had to wait.

Well, I finally got my email notice that my turn had come and I could download my audio book. Only problem was I received the notice over one weekend when we were away. You only have two days to download before your turn expires and so I lost the opportunity to do so. Placing another hold on the audio book would place me behind another forty people so I had no choice but to wait again.

Finally, last week I downloaded Brisingr and have been listening as much as possible. This morning I finally caught up to almost the exact same place I left off reading months ago. I decided to listen all the way through again since it had been a few months and I have decided I enjoy audio books while driving. As it is almost lunch time, I thought to listen a bit more.

But between when I ended listening this morning and when I tried to start up again just moments ago my subscription expired and thus I can't finish the story. That's the downside to using the library - they use protected WMA format for audio books that expire after 7 days or so.

Good news is that there's only one person in the queue before me so there's a good chance I'll be able to download it again within a few days. But what are the odds that it would stop now, right when I'm within a few pages - or minutes of listening - of getting to where I left off before?

So what lesson is God teaching me today?
